A long-time favourite of Hollywood filmmakers, the main attractions
of Amboseli are the spectacular views of Kilimanjaro and the profusion
of wildlife, including large herds of elephant, wildebeest, giraffe
and zebra. Sometimes lion can also be found here. Bird watchers can
expect to see pelican, bee-eaters, kingfisher, African fish eagle and
pygmy falcon.
Best time to go: Game viewing can be good all year but
from April to mid-June Lake Amboseli can flood, limiting access in some
parts of the park. At these times bird life is prolific.
